Working in Partnership

CARES-Well is built on partnership and co-design from start to finish. Staff, employers, and members of the public are involved throughout the project, ensuring decisions are made with those most affected, rather than about them. We place particular importance on including voices that are may be seldom heard, so the work reflects the diversity of the health and social care workforce.

We involve people through:

  • Patient and Public Involvement (PPI) Group – bringing lived experience and public perspectives into the project by feeding into and being represented at the project Advisory and Steering Groups.

  • Employer Partners Group – senior workforce and wellbeing leaders from the organisations in our 4 research areas, including Chief People Officers and other senior leaders who shape the work culture, who advise the project about the focus of the research.

  • ‘National’ Staff Partners Group – to include staff from seldom-heard and under-served groups within the four regions advising the project about both the focus of the research and how the research is done.

  • Staff across four research areas: Devon, Surrey, North-West London and South Yorkshire.

  • Project Champions – people who have expressed an interest in actively supporting our project in an informal way. This group works with us to provide advice, across a range of viewpoints, about CARES-Well Academy activities, outputs, resources, supporting the dissemination of our work.

  • Project Advisory Group – a national group offering advice on all aspects of the project.

  • Project Steering Group – a national group providing strategic oversight and ensuring the project is progressing as planned.

All involvement is underpinned by shared principles of respect, openness, shared learning and inclusion.
